Reflection

Maths: In maths this week we did another word problem on the mat. I found it hard when we did it. I really enjoyed it when we played yahtzee for our maths rotations.

Reading: In reading this week I liked it when we did the must do’s and can do’s. I enjoyed doing the character inference sheet with our favorite book. And the handwriting was fun too.

Writing: Writing this week was part of the reading activities.

It was book week and it was super fun. I really liked doing the Kahikatea book quiz on Monday and our group won! It was also really cool when we dressed up in our costumes on wednesday!

Reflection

Maths: In maths this week I liked it when we did our mental maths questions and when I did my gloss test. It was a little  hard when we did the maths word story.

Reading: In reading this week we did our must do’s and can do’s and I finished my blog and camp review. I really liked doing book talk on thursday as well.

Writing: writing this week was part of our must do’s and can do’s which was fun.

The moment my foot sank into the mud, the goo was cold and squelchy. It was deep and muddy and super fun. I could see as  The sun glistens on the dirty water and my legs were sticky and glazed with mud. I was out of breath by the time my foot landed on the finish line.

Camp Reflection

From the 18th to the 19th of October 2017 Kahikatea team were on camp at the Rotorua Lakes Ranch. On Wednesday which was the day we arrived was packed full with exciting things that we did. There were different groups from group 1 to 8. I was in group 8. First my group did kayaking, I was a bit nervous getting inside the kayak because it wobbled, but after a little while of paddling around the lake it was really fun. next we did rock climbing then the scavenger hunt and then raft building. we managed to fit our whole group of 10 people on our raft. Those were our activities for that day. For dinner we had lasagna and for dessert we had apple crumble and ice cream. On the Wednesday we had a talent show and lots of people had great performances. The next day was Thursday and our first activity was slug gun shooting then orienteering and then the mud run. we sloshed through water and mud. After that our group went in the hot pools. Our last activity was horse riding. I was very nervous getting on the horse but  after a while as we were walking along the track on the horses it was really fun and it was my favorite activity. For dinner we had macaroni and cheese and for dessert we had jelly and ice cream.  Friday was the last day and on the way back to school we all went to the hot springs. It was a super fun camp!

My term 3 review

Term 3 was a great term and we got to do some cool things like our production. It was really fun and  it was my first production too.

I liked doing more writing this term and recapping on similes. The book" wonder" has been really good which our teacher has been reading to the class. One of my favorite things this term was doing the calendar art. I'm really happy with my art too! and cross country was fun too, I came in 7th place for the 11 year old girls. It was fun but tiring. I think term 3 was great!

poem

As my paint brush glided across the page I was almost at the next stage. As the colors swam across the paper they flew so vibrantly like an exploded rainbow lorikeet. But of course the colors had no feet so they stayed exactly on my calendar art. but remember I was only at the start.

This is a video of the song room 8 played. Unfortunately I was sick so I could not be there. But we practiced a lot that term and it was quite fun rehearsing. I was practicing the bass guitar for the performance. I would have really liked to be in it that day!

Production blog

In term 3 2017 we did a Kahikatea team production called Choices for Life. It was really fun and we put in a lot of hard work. Especially the teachers. I was a tree in the performance. The production was a big success and I really enjoyed it.

Reflection: 8.09.17

Maths: In maths this week I liked doing the fraction work on the mat, some of it was a bit hard. I liked some of the mathletics as well.

Reading: In reading this week I really enjoyed doing the cockroach activities like the five facts about cockroaches and the short story about the article.

Writing: writing was part of the cockroach tasks.

We have been doing a lot of production practices. I am looking forward to the performances.
